Old Cape Henry Lighthouse

The Old Cape Henry Lighthouse  is known for being one of the oldest lighthouses in Fort Story Army base. It was built in 1878 which is used to guide ships through Chesapeake bay going to the ports of Baltimore, Washington and Norfolk.

More and more tourists are coming to Virginia Beach to visit  the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse to enjoy and get awed by the scenery and views above the lighthouse. You can see ships miles from the window of the old lighthouse as well as the New Cape Henry Lighthouse which was built subsequent to the old one after the latter being declared to be no longer safe for use.

Only the Old Cape Henry Lighthouse is open for public with a souvenir shop at the base of the lighthouse. After paying your admission fee, you can walk through the steps toward the Old Cape Lighthouse and climb up through its staircase where you can look up through windows and admire the scenery.
